Introducing the Live More Independently Today Program
The LMIT program is a product of the work of a group of Special Education teachers that share a passion for transition education. Spurred on by a need for more meaningful and authentic remote learning options during the COVID-19 pandemic, the team set out to create a comprehensive collection of lessons focusing on gaining independence in the life skills domain. Given the new virtual format and loss of in-person instruction with school staff, it was obvious that our content needed to be more accessible to students and caregivers. As a result, users will benefit from a foundation of video based instruction, interactive assessments and electronic data collection. It is our mission to continue to design curriculum that is based on post-secondary outcomes that can be found in student transition plans. As we move forward, providing additional opportunities to individualize and personalize programming for all students in the transition setting will be our priority.

Please help us improve our program by providing feedback on your experience. As this is still a new development, we understand that there are many gaps to fill but our priority has been to deliver content as soon as it's ready. It takes a community to contribute to something of this magnitude and we appreciate any and all participation from our valued stakeholders. Together we will all live more independently today!
